feeling under the weather when I'd much rather be under George Clooney... or just feeling him...lol
I think I’m having one of those days where I should have stayed in bed, in fact after putting this blog up I may just drag my backside back there… I have had a rough few days, managed to pick up a bug… or it may be the same one that was hanging about a couple of weeks ago…. But I feel awful, nauseous, dizzy, tired and as weak as a kitten, just hoping it passes soon as the hubs is off from Friday for a few days and we were wanting to get away for a couple of them.
We did manage to get out for a bit the other day only to have to turn back… what with me looking like a corpse… lol
I had been feeling great until we got about 5 minutes into the journey, and I started to feel travel sick…the hubs said I went through various shades of green and then white…. I didn’t need to ask him to turn back he just said we’re going home…. Lol and promptly put me to bed on our return… funny thing is he stayed with me and fell asleep within a couple of minutes so I suspect he was too tired for a day out and that may have been the reason for our hasty return….lol
We did manage to get out in the very early hours of Monday morning … courtesy of some drunken gits coming home from a party at 4.30am … so we were both wide awake and I had been wanting to catch the sunrise which we did… and it was gorgeous- even though it was freezing cold… like mid winter….of course who forgot her jacket or a jumper cos she was burning up… yip that would be me…lol I’ll put some of the sunrise pictures into an album… soon!
I’ll try and get round your blogs as soon as possible…. I’ve been trying to do a couple at a time, whenever I’m online…
Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible… and until then please accept my apologies if I don’t get round to your site over the next few days…
should be back to normal… (whatever that means) by Wednesday next week or earlier if possible…
assuming this bug has cleared up.
With love & hugs

Something a bit different… meditation music with theta waves,
its's just over 9 mins long if you get the chance give it a listen...
it is designed to be listened to with head phones & it reprogrammes the brain
in this case for relaxation and meditation,
but the theta waves are only audible to the brain with the use of headphones.
enjoy!

I have been thinking about rites of passage, and even the rituals we use to mark them from birthdays to birth, marriages and deaths… to the more subtle of rites of passage like a divorce, or separation, leaving home, etc., all are turnings of the page in our own personal stories, in the book that is our life. Where my thinking was taking me in particular was a ritual that is used for such transitions as a rite of passage and may be used at any time within your life’s journey.
There is a ritual based within certain native American tribes that is called “the life and death arrow”, the idea is that you connect to one arrow all of the parts of your self that you want to die away, such as habits you want to give up, outmoded thought patterns, fears etc., and you connect all the negativity you feel you should be rid of to this arrow to, you focus your will and intent into the arrow, that will be your death arrow.
You then shift your focus to your life arrow once you feel you are ready, this is the arrow that offers welcoming of the new into your life, and in such you are focusing quite clearly on your goals and aspirations, the parts of you that you wish to have a positive expression, or the new directions in which you wish to tread, you focus your will and see your life arrow bringing new ventures and positive influence into your life.
Many have written their intentions on paper and attached them to the arrows the paper being another form of symbolism that as it degrades through time and under the elements its intent is carried to the heavens/gods/universe.
Once you have prepared both arrows you embark on what is a spiritual quest, in that you find a mountain (literally)… and plant your death arrow at the base of the mountain pushing it firmly into the earth, whilst asking mother earth to accept those parts of you that are holding you back, or stopping you from finding your expression in this life. Once you have finished your meditation of releasing your negativity and the parts of you- that you wish to die away or be transmuted you accept that mother earth, the greatest of healers accepts your sacrifice from within your own essence and know that she is able to use that energy and transform it.
Once the death arrow part of the ritual is completed and you have shifted your focus back to your life arrow… you begin your climb… as you climb your mountain you focus on how you want your life to be, in its most positive, all of the goals and aspirations you have attached to your life arrow should remain in your mind at all times during you journey. Once you reach the summit you meditate again, and focus your will. Once you have finished your meditation and you will have hat sense of inner knowing when the times is right, you implant the arrow into the ground and accept that mother earth has heard your petition.
Most people receive a sign of some description that their petition has been heard and they have an inner knowing as each stage of the ritual is complete, but as always in such rituals it is imperative to watch and listen to nature for the signs that only our spirits can interpret.
This particular ritual/spiritual quest is usually undertaken by those who feel there lives have reached a crossroads in some way and that they are ready to leave the old chapter behind and ready to consciously move forward into the next phase of their lives with eyes wide open and spirits aware. It is a conscious choice to sacrifice those parts of ourselves that we no longer feel we need and accept that when change comes it will be a more positive expression of who we are.
It is a rite of passage and should not be undertaken lightly and as with most rituals should be performed with reverence and is a form of ritual that reconnects you with your own inner voice and nature, the height of your mountain is your choice entirely, it may even be a hill, the idea is that you do in fact climb, and you give yourself that time to connect to letting go of the old… letting go of the fear that holds you back, whether that fear be of death, dying, or life itself we all have fears that are so deeply entrenched they colour most of what we do, this is that part of the ritual that calls into |
